how do i get on singleplayer with the client?

You can't as of yet with the standalone client. But if you want to you can click Here to play in browser.

Oh ok. I just wanted to figure out what singleplayer survival mode was like, and thought u needed client for that.

There is no current way to use survival mode except for modding the client source.
