why can't i connect to servers or single player?

i don't exactly know if this is the right forum so sorry if its not but, when ever the game finally loads all i get is a black screen with a cube on it that looks somewhat like the client logo so if you can help please do

Please follow these instructions and post the resulting link here.

While you're at it, if you don't mind, would you kindly open up the launcher, click on "Preferences" then click on "Submit diagnostic information" then wait a sec for it to do it's thing then copy the url it gives you and then paste that link in here. That'll help a lot.
